Dermal filler is a sterile, injectable gel most commonly formulated with hyaluronic acid, a molecule naturally present in the skin and connective tissue. When precisely placed beneath the skin, it can provide structural support, restore localized volume and soften visible facial folds. At Centre Esthétique Montréal, hyaluronic acid filler treatments are performed exclusively by licensed physicians following an individualized consultation and facial assessment. The physician determines appropriate injection sites, depth and quantity according to facial anatomy, tissue quality and treatment objectives. Treatments are available at both clinics. Hyaluronic acid fillers are designed to integrate gradually with surrounding tissue over time.

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the skin that binds water and contributes to hydration, volume and tissue support. When a hyaluronic acid filler is injected into a targeted area, the gel occupies space beneath the skin and attracts water, helping restore volume lost with age and support facial contours. The initial effect is visible immediately, then continues to settle as the product integrates with the surrounding tissue over the following weeks.
Results are not permanent. Because the filler is made of hyaluronic acid, it can be adjusted or dissolved with a specialized enzyme, a treatment available at our clinics when appropriate. During consultation, the physician evaluates facial anatomy and treatment goals, then determines the quantity, injection depth and placement for each area.

24 to 48 hours before your appointment, when medically appropriate, avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil and other blood thinning supplements. Complete your intake forms, then tell the physician about medications, allergies, pregnancy, breastfeeding and previous aesthetic treatments, so the physician can personalize your plan appropriately.
Your physician assesses your facial anatomy and discusses your goals, then creates a personalized plan and injects dermal filler into targeted areas. The quantity is measured in syringes and depends on the areas treated and volume to restore. Appointments take 30 to 60 minutes. For sensitive patients, numbing cream may be applied. You may feel light pressure, brief pinching or mild stinging during injections.
After treatment, mild swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising may occur and usually resolve within a few days. For 24 to 48 hours, avoid strenuous exercise, heat, alcohol and pressure on treated areas. Results are visible immediately and settle over the following weeks as the treated area recovers.
